Description
The Sunstone Single Drop-In Side Burner (Item No. 1SSB) is an up to 15,000 BTU brass burner for an outdoor kitchen island. Use it to sear steaks, cook stir-fry in a wok or simmer sauces.
It drops into a cut-out of 10" W x 4" H x 16-1/8" D in a countertop or non-combustible enclosure and stands 4" above the counter. With the hood closed it measures 11" W x 8" H x 17-1/4" D. You can install it horizontally or vertically, as a single unit or side by side with others.
The burner cover and vented burner box are 18 gauge 304 stainless steel, and the solid cooking grates are 304 stainless steel over 110 sq. in. of cooking surface. The hood and grates lift off for cleaning. Ignition is electronic impulse with a push button, powered by an AA battery. A burner safety skirt and air vents keep it running safely. The handle is chrome-plated zinc alloy. It runs on natural gas or propane and weighs 13 lbs.

Shipping & returns
Shipping & Delivery
All orders ship free to the 48 contiguous United States.
Larger (freight) shipments are curb-side only. A signature and possibly assistance may be required for unloading. We will work with you to arrange a delivery date and time, but the final details will be between you and the freight carrier.
IMPORTANT: ALL LTL DELIVERIES ARE CURBSIDE UNLESS WHITE GLOVE FEES ARE PAID. All reports of damage must be made within 3 business days after delivery.
Receiving Your Shipment
When the shipment arrives, please do the following:
- Inspect every box carefully before signing. There is no such thing as damage that is too small: dents, tears, crushed corners, punctures, or scuffs should all be noted.
- Take clear photos of any box that shows damage.
- On the delivery receipt, write down exactly how many boxes have visible damage. If it is electronic, have the driver show you where to notate the damage. Before handing it back, take a photo of the document showing your notation.
After the driver leaves, please immediately open and inspect the items themselves. If you find any damage, contact us with the following:
- A photo of the item unboxed with the damage visible
- A close-up photo of the actual damage
- A photo of the delivery document where you noted the box damage
These steps ensure we can file a claim quickly and get any replacement parts or items to you without delay.
Returns & Exchanges
Returns are accepted within 60 days of original purchase, in original packaging and unused, for a full refund minus a 15% Restocking Fee.
We recommend insuring products when shipping back to us. Returns will be rejected if the product is received damaged.

Just put this side burner in and I love it. The 15,000 BTU brass burner puts out serious heat, good for searing or boiling a big pot of corn while the grill is busy. Dropped right into my island, no fuss.
Solid burner and the brass feels durable. Heats up fast and evenly, great for sauces and sides. Only complaint is the igniter sometimes takes a couple tries, but once it's lit it works great.
This 15,000 BTU burner is legit. I can finally get a real sear on steaks or boil water for pasta without running inside. Build quality is great and it fit right into my Sunstone outdoor kitchen.
I'm a contractor and have installed a few of these. They've been consistently good. The drop-in design makes install easy and clients are happy with the brass burner. Reliable, though I've seen slightly more powerful ones at a higher price.
This single burner has added a lot to my backyard setup. I've fried onions, simmered sauce, even made breakfast out there, and the brass burner gives nice precise heat. A must if you're serious about your outdoor kitchen.
